Engage audiences in conversation of life and faith through innovative storytelling and breathtaking dance

You can provide innovative storytelling and breathtaking dance to thousands!

In today's busy and broken world, it is so easy to forget the beautiful things that surround us. Ballet 5:8 uses innovative storytelling and breathtaking dance to bring beauty, inspiration and meaningful conversation of life and faith to communities across the country.

“In a ballet, you can allow yourself to get lost in the beauty. It’s difficult to wake up every day and see the trouble, sadness and frightening things in the world. Those two hours in a theater can be a refuge, a moment of stillness surrounded by transcendent beauty. It’s not just two hours of escapism and mindless entertainment. I believe that when we encounter transcendent beauty, we carry that with us back into the world.” -Ballet 5:8 Artistic Director Julianna Rubio Slager.

Ballet 5:8’s work, created by Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer Julianna Rubio Slager as well as guest choreographers, speaks to topics that we encounter in our everyday lives. Slager draws her inspiration from her own life, literature, scripture and the experiences of the many men and women she interviews during the process. As we see ourselves in the stories told onstage, we find inspiration to look beyond ourselves.

“I found that dance, music, and literature is how I made sense of the world...It pushed me to think of things bigger than life’s daily routines...to think beyond what is immediate or convenient.” ―Mikhail Baryshnikov

Your investment in Ballet 5:8's mission will allow us to continue to use beauty to share meaningful stories with communities across the country. These stories will help transform the lives of hundreds of audience members this season.
